BTL #321 - I Wrote The Bill - 7/5/19

This week BTL is back with an IN DEPTH discussion of the Democratic Debates, Puerto Rico’s amazing activism, and all the horrible news you missed while we were gone. Brent says some confusing things about Marianne Williamson (NOT ENDORSEMENT THINGS, CALM DOWN) but it gives us a chance to discuss our favorite topic - our prescience when it comes to presidential election cycles and how they work. Also, it’s summer recess in Congress which means…it’s townhall season! Go bug your reps!

BTL #311 - What, If Anything, Is Obstruction - 3/25/19

BTL #311 - What, If Anything, Is Obstruction - 3/25/19

This week on BTL…breaking news! The Mueller report is real and it’s out and humans have read it and those humans have…told us there was no collusion. BUT, despite what you’re reading, we give you some reasons to hope! Plus, we’ve got all the presidential news that’s fit to print and a reminder that all you need to do to get gun control moving is…decide to do it. Action begins with the intention to take literally any action. Stay strong out there!

BTL #250 - Sestercentennial - 6/26/17

This week on BTL, Wealthcare is still anybody is talking about, and we're here to give you a running list of who, to date, is for it, against it, undecided, and especially evil. Plus, some thoughts on the GOP and guns, the Democrats and women, single-payer's worst enemies, and our "new" policies on Cuba. And finally, Jesus Christ, will we ever get a guilty verdict in the police the shooting of an innocent black man (or woman... or child...)?!

BTL #237 - A World Without Business (Cards) - 3/20/17

This week on BTL, Lila's father joins us for a look under the hood of Trump's new "America First" budget proposal, which seems to put a lot of America-America, most notably the elderly and poor, starkly last. But don't worry, rich people will make out well! And really, who else counts? Then, it was a week notable for it's many diplomacy stumbles but luckily Rex Tillerson doesn't seem that concerned about it. He's sleeping fine! And even Fox News finds that most things, but most notably Bernie Sanders, Planned Parenthood, and Obamacare, are far more popular than the president. It's all that plus some theories on North Korean politics so make sure to tune in!

BTL #232 - SEE YOU IN COURT [w/ Special Guests: Bad News Live’s Chuck Ludwig and Julianne Simitz] - 2/13/17

This week on BTL...the Bad News Live Crew is back!  Check out their next live show on Feb 18th at the Acme Theater in LA!  In the meantime, however, catch them reliving the million hours of news the Trump administration so thoughtfully produced in the last week.  First a foremost, let's #neverremember to #newforget a new category of fake terrorist victims - those (zero) lost in the Atlanta attacks.  Plus, we've got news on the Muslim Ban's court progress, updates on the senate confirmations (DeVos, Sessions, Price, oh my!), thoughts on why and how #shepersisted, whether or not Hillary Clinton has persisted, whether or not the Senate should persist, and more!  Also, anybody with leads for where a person can get some easy D should contact the White House.

BTL #207 - Politicon 2016 - 6/27/16

 BTL #207 - Politicon 2016 - 6/27/16

Well...this week on the podcast, we’ll cover Brexit, the House sit-in, the latest polls, Veepstakes, and Rubio, but first join us on the other side of the theme music for highlights from the most important news story in this very packed week: Our two days at Politicon!!!!

BTL #206 - Run For Office - 6/20/16

This week on BTL, we know it's hot and hard to focus on anything but popsicles and swimming pools, but we'd love some answers regarding what our actual election results were here!  1.5 million ballots still uncounted?  Let's fix that!  Then our two great loves, gun control and filibusters, collided last week for an epic democratic-led 15 hour gun control filibuster that warmed our hearts and lifted our spirits but possibly wont result in any actual change.  And those are only two of the zillions of things we covered this week.  We'd think of more to tease but it's too hot.  Just listen.  We promise it'll be fun.

Two Things We Love Collided Yesterday

Two Things We Love Collided Yesterday

Yesterday, two of our obsessions,  gun control and real-life, non-silent, non-procedural filibusters collided as Sen. Chris Murphy (D-CT, Newly Minted Hero) held the senate floor for 14+ hours to demand a vote on two of the most minor and widely supported gun control measures on the planet.
